The 9th Day of the End of Summer, in 1085.
My most dear and beloved husband has fulfilled all his promises to I. Now the owner of Simple Luxury. I find myself able to once again show my skill as a needlewoman. The previous owner, said my Most Honorable Cecil, was a retiring commoner who was pleased to pass the property over to one who would care for it so well.

I have kept the girl who works there, a young girl named Boetta. Her taste is perhaps odd. However, she is an eager girl who keeps the clothing tidy and gives mostly informed opinions. A new lady's maid has been acquired, a young Miriel J. Greyson. The quality of servitude is rising.

As my husband has fulfilled his promises, it is time for I to fulfill mine. I have acquired the assistance of Rachelle Larkin in this case and the matter of cloth. I hope to keep it a secret. I have tried enough old wives' tales and poor advice. I hope this is the last one I have to deal with. I will pray to the great Ylessa in the morn.

The 30th Day of the Beginning of Summer, in 1085
I did not think today would be as interesting an adventure as it has turned out. We returned home later than expected, so my Count left early to attend to the court's business. He shall return tomorrow. Until then I explored my new home, and the city surrounding it. I met a polite Lady Mattinas, an impressive worker of fabric named Rachelle Larkin and a hesitant Captain who shall be making a birthday present for my Count.

Things at home were not unpacked properly. I find myself constantly having to follow Kylie, a young maid given to me by the Count, correcting her placement and handling of my possessions. I miss my old maid Reney, she was of Mother's house and never put a toe out of line, everything going to its proper place. I am perhaps too lenient with the girl.
